Supporting same-sex marriage is hateful, self-righteous, and judgmental!

If a man was headed down a path that ended in a hidden trap filled with sharpened stakes into which he would surely fall and be impaled, would it be love to encourage him on his way with your blessings? “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death” (Pr.14:12), and the way of homosexuality is just such a way. “Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals*… will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Cor.6:9-10) The sexually immoral (including fornicators and adulterers) are deceived about the nature of their way. They think their way of life is worth celebrating (though I have not seen a fornicator or adulterer parade), but theirs is the way of death. So it turns out that those who wave rainbow flags unknowingly hate homosexuals, hurrying them down a path that leads to their destruction.
Furthermore, their affirmation of homosexuality is a self-righteous judgment. A self-righteous judgment is one in which we set ourselves up as judge and pronounce a verdict that ‘self’ thinks is ‘right.’ A righteous judgment, on the other hand, defers to the Judge of the universe and agrees with whatever He says is right. In God’s Supreme Court, homosexuality has been condemned. He has judged that homosexuality (along with adultery, incest, and bestiality) are not only sins but also crimes (Lev. 20:10-16). This is why support for same-sex marriage is not only hateful, it is a self-righteous judgment.
Some may complain that we shouldn’t judge at all, but that, of course, would be a hasty judgment. When Jesus said, “Judge not lest ye be judged…” he was not condemning judging (which would be self-contradictory), He was calling us to make righteous judgments (cf.Jn.7:24). He was calling us to agree with His Father’s judgments. So don’t condemn as hateful, self-righteous, and judgmental those who say homosexuality is a sin or who dare to oppose same-sex marriage. They are simply agreeing with God’s judgment. The real haters are those who wave flags and self-righteously cheer for people on their way to destruction.
Warning: If you dare to share this article, there are self-righteous haters out there who will judge you.
*Note about the Greek: Some wily interpreters try to say the word in the Greek text does not refer to a homosexual, but this is not true. The word translated ‘homosexual’ in the NASB is the word ἀρσενοκοῖται, which is a combination of two Greek words ἄρσενος and κοίτην used in the LXX (the Greek version of the Old Testament). Leviticus 20:13 says, “καὶ ὃς ἂν κοιμηθῇ μετὰ ἄρσενος κοίτην γυναικός βδέλυγμα ἐποίησαν ἀμφότεροι θανατούσθωσαν ἔνοχοί εἰσιν.” It is translated: “Whoever lays with a man as with a woman does something detestable, both shall be put to death. They are guilty.” The ἀρσενοκοῖται is one who 'beds down a man.'
According to God’s law, anal sex among men was not just a sin, it was a crime carrying the same penalty as adultery, incest, and bestiality (Lev.20:10-16). That is God's righteous judgment. To judge differently is a self-righteous judgment.
